What’s the difference between 좋다 and 좋아해요?

 

First, 좋다 means “good”. 좋다 is an adjective. So, you can’t use 좋다 with object particles. 좋다 requires subject particles.

 

For example,

 

날씨를 좋아요. (X)

날씨가 좋아요. (O)

 

Second, 좋아하다 means “like”. 좋아하다 is a verb. So, 좋아하다 requires an object.

 

For example,

 

저는 사과가 좋아해요. (X)

저는 사과를 좋아해요. (O)
